"I dont know how this guy is still in business! November i spoke with Dave because my insurance card was not on the app. My wife had just been rear ended. Dave said they dropped my insurance because of a payment issue.....another situation that Dave's office people screwed up with setting up the auto payment. Asked Dave to add the vehicle that was just in the accident and to add it to the auto billing for the 10th of each month. Checked again a few weeks ago my jeep is not on my app again. Called multiple times and left messages to receive a call back........nothing. Got pulled over called state farm customer service they hung up on me.......I guess its time to find a new insurance company all together state farm has went to crap or something! I have multiple examples of issues like this from this office. I have been with state farm for 15 plus years and just recently had issues."

"I had Dave as my agent for a few years. First off, I want to say his staff is really nice. I felt their communication and following through was exceptionally lacking, and not just once but multiple occassions. Their response time to my mortgage lender was slower than a week (twice) and they only responded because I called them an extra time to provide the needed docs to them. I also struggled for over 4 months on getting a return of premium on a house sale and his office was always very sluggish to respond to my inquiries. I received promises from Dave personally two times that he would be in touch with State Farm HQ and get back to me the next day, which he didn't do. After that 4-month battle, I switched agents. The new agent said that Dave's office didn't actually do anything in the progress of getting the return of premium, and the new office got the premium to me within the matter of days. It seemed to me that either his office is understaffed, disorganized, or both. Dave and his office might work great for you, just know that if you have to reach out to them 3+ times on a certain problem that they aren't resolving, it might be time to change State Farm agents."

"Absolutely terrible service and attention to detail. If you’re looking for someone that you have to triple or quadruple check their work to make sure your vehicles are accounted for he’s your guy. They messed up on what vehicles were insured so we went through the list and corrected it. A month later we added a new vehicle and two of the previous vehicles that we were told was on the policy still weren’t covered. This wasn’t the first time this kind of scenario happened."

"I stopped into the office to follow up on my auto insurance policy & the recent issue I've had with it. When I was pulled back, I recapped my issue to 2 agents. Both of whom, assured me the issue had been handled so I was good to go. Ok great. My request was to receive a copy of the updated policy documents they had fixed earlier. Instead, I was told that the office was super busy, the printer was broken & they had other deadlines to prioritize before further assisting me. Weird, because I was already in the office (the only person there at that) & this was something supposed to have been previously completed. But over the course of 20-30 minutes (for a 5 minute job), I was encouraged to leave several times. With them stating they'd finish up my request- sending an email of the documents at a later time. When I insisted I was happy to wait, the agent pushed back & was so patronizing for no reason. I did end up with a new document after being mansplained about the way the system worked. Ok, nobody asked for that. Anyway, what was clear was that my issue was not a priority & my experience did not matter to them. What a lovely first visit to the office."

"Just wanted to say had a wonderful experience switch insurance to State Farm through the support of Kate at the Dave Ellis State Farm Agency! Kate was so kind and incredibly knowledgeable on helping me get the best price for my car and renters insurance! She had excellent customer service care, I felt very supported and heard as I managed getting a new policy that is now going to save me close to $80 a month. Highly highly recommend!!"

"I'm so fed up with this office. I needed to replace my windshield and Dave said to pay out of pocket, take a picture of the receipt and email it to him and he would mail Mr a check. I got a text from an employee of his named Leo Acosta saying the check is in the mail expect 5-10 business days. I'm located in West Haven. It's been a week still no check. I tried calling but no one answered. They called while I was working, they texted me making sure my address is correct. Asked them when the check was sent out, told me they sent it out the the day before. So first your telling me the check is in the mail on a Thursday, a week later you tell me you just sent out the check? I'm begging to think I'm not getting a check and Dave or Leo lied to me. Dave also likes to pressure you into getting life insurance, even though I have life insurance at work. He won't take no for an answer no matter what you say. I tried switching agents but that didn't happen because the agent I spoke to called Dave to let him know one of your clients is reaching out to me. I might as well go elsewhere for insurance. This is ridiculous!"
